Wednesday... There is a definite resolve that we need.
It can be so easy for us to look around and see people as if they don't have any problems or any difficulties like we do.
The writer of Psalm 73:1-3 (CEV) in his honesty says, "God is truly good to Israel, especially to everyone with a pure heart. But I almost stumbled and fell, because it made me jealous to see proud and evil people and to watch them prosper. They never have to suffer, they stay healthy, and they don't have troubles like everyone else."
Again, it can be so easy for us to look around and see people as if they don't have any problems or any difficulties. I love the honesty of the Psalms.
In verse 16, the writer says, "It was so hard for me to understand all this! Then I went to your temple, and there I understood what will happen to my enemies."
He later says to God in verses 21-22, "Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was so foolish and ignorant - I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you."
And then in verses 23-26 his resolve that he needed comes in, "Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me to glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever."
He then says in verse 27 (MSG), "Look! Those who left you are falling apart! Deserters, they'll never be heard from again." We need to stop and really realize the truth. And then we resolve. Verse 28 (NLT) says, "But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do."
We need to realize and remember and then resolve. There is a definite resolve that we need. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
