Monday... We love this thought. It is such a great one. But do we use it as it was meant to be used?
Here is is, Philippians 4:13 (NLT), "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." But here is a good question, can we really be content? And that is what Paul is talking about here. And being content is so important for us in living each and everyday.
Here is what Paul says in verses 11-12 (MSG), "I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty."
We strive for the next best tool from Apple or that car that everyone wants or whatever it is that you say you can do anything to get but can you live without it? Can you be content and thankful with what you have?
Now we need to strive to do what needs to be done to provide for our family, to do the job that we are given, and to fulfill God's purpose in our life. Being lazy is not being content. It is just being lazy and that isn't what this means.
Content means to be in a state of peaceful happiness, a state of satisfaction. Being lazy means being unwilling to work or use energy.
Verses 12 & 13 in The Amplified Bible says, "I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life] whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens me [to fulfill His purpose - I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency. I am ready for anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]"
Now that is a great thought for us to live. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
