Tuesday... Do you feel this way?

Tuesday... Do you feel this way?

The writer of Psalm 120 ends his Psalm in verses 6 & 7 (NLT) with this, "I am tired of living among people who hate peace. I search for peace; but when I speak of peace they want war."

Someone has said that what we are going through is the younger generations World War 3. Our world is truly at war with each other. Instead of banding together to find a solution to this epidemic that we are going through we have been at war. Family against family, spouse against spouse. "I am tired of living among people who hate peace. I search for peace; but when I speak of peace they want war."

As Proverbs 30:33 says, "As the beating of cream yields butter and the striking the nose causes bleeding, so stirring up anger causes quarrels." And there is so much anger. Why don't we just get along?

Over in 1 Corinthians 6:1-2 Paul writes to a divided church. He says, "When one of you has a dispute with another believer, how dare you file a lawsuit and ask a secular court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other believers! Don't you realize that someday we believers will judge the world? And since you are going to judge the world, can't you decide even these little things among yourselves? Don't you realize that we will judge angels? So you should be able to resolve ordinary disputes in life."

Could this be a test? Has God allowed this to happen to see how we as His followers handle it? Let's get out of the war business and into the peace business? Too much that we are waring about could be handled with prayer and with wisdom. We should be able to handle ordinary disputes because we have access to the Holy Spirit and His love.

As verse 11b says, "But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

Let's show the world that we are followers of the Prince of Peace. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Wednesday... It didn't just happen.

Psalm 16;10 (NLT), "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." Wednesday... It didn't just happen. We are headed into a weekend of deep emotion. One that we really really love was killed and it didn't just happen. David in Psalm 16:10 (NLT) writes of this happening. He says about God, "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." We read over in the Gospels at the beginning of the New Testament in the Bible of the life of God's Son who came to earth to be our sacrifice so that our soul would not be left among the dead. Jesus came so that we wouldn't have to be buried at death and just left there. But he also shares that Jesus who was going to be killed as a sacrifice for our sins would not have to rot in a grave. David many generations before foretold this and that is what happened. Now that had to be a God thing. We can guess a lot about our future and we d...

Friday... Yes, we need them. We really do

Psalm 8:3-4 (NLT), "When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers - the moon and the stars you set in place - what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?" Friday... Yes, we need them. We really do. No, not the fact that I can go out my front door and look out at night at the marvels of the sky. I can do that and it is amazing and it takes my breath away each time I see it. Yes, that is a fact but the reality of who did that and the wisdom and the faith that I have to believe that and to marvel that the one who did that cares about me makes such a difference in how I live my life. Yes, God really does. That is so wonderful for us to believe. And that is why faith and wisdom are so important. Now whatever belief you have at how that marvel happened must also be believed through faith. And the sad thing to me is that more and more people have been taught that there is no God and therefore he did not have a h...

Wednesday... Our unless can turn into useless.

Wednesday... Our unless can turn into useless.  It really can. I have found that unless I give the correct email of my wife then I can't get what I wanted. I put an extra i in her email and I have been working for 5 days to get it changed. Unless has been useless. The writer of Psalm 94 uses this word and shows how important it is. Verses 17-19 (NLT) says, "Unless the Lord had helped me, I would have soon settled in the silence of the grave. I cried out, 'I'm slipping!' but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer." "Unless the Lord had helped me." So many people go on and on and on striving to live their life on their own but they keep slipping and doubting and living without hope and cheer. Yes the Lord has such unfailing love for us, he really does but unless we have a relationship with him and we turn to him and ask him for help then the unless turns in to useless because h...
