Tuesday... You got an A.
This is a time for tests. This school year is coming to an end but there are tests happening every night.
David writes in Psalm 17:3 (NLT), "You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong." You got an A. That is what we want, isn't it?
Now it is one thing to be tested by a human but Proverb 17:3 says, "Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but the Lord tests the heart."
Over in Luke 6:45 Jesus says, "A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart."
Back to Psalm 17, it says in verses 3-5, "You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong. I am determined not to sin in what I say. I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people. My steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you." That is how you get your A. Now that may sound simple but it isn't easy.
As you live out your day just stop and confess to God when you have wavered from His path and ask Him to fill you with His presence and to strengthen you in your resolve to live for Him. Yes, He will test you but He also will live in you and through you if you ask Him. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
