Wednesday... Waiting can be a such hard thing to do. It tells a lot about us if we have a problem with waiting.
David in Psalm 62:5 (MSG), "God the one and only - I'll wait as long as he says." But that is not usually the way we take it. I don't have time for this. I have too much to do. I don't like to wait. Don't they know who I am?
How we handle waiting tells us what we think about ourselves. Let me ask you, how are you handling this Covid world that we are living in? Do you think that God has the power to do something about this? Could it be He is waiting for us to put our total trust in Him?
James 4:2-3 says, "You wouldn't think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you'd be asking for what you have no right to do. You're spoiled children each wanting your own way."
He goes on, verses 4- 7, "You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that 'he's a fiercely jealous lover.' And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that 'God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the humble. So let God work his will in you."
Again David says, verses 5-8 (NLT), "Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge."
Again, "God is the one and only - I'll wait as long as he says." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
