Thursday... It's not over till it is over. We need to believe that.
David wrote Psalm 57 while he was in a cave with his enemy Saul outside wanting to kill him. David wrote in verse 6 (NLT), "My enemies have set a trap for me. I'm weary from distress. They have dug a deep pit in my path, but they themselves have fallen into it." This that we are going through is not over yet. God is still working. The Evil One thinks he has us trapped but it's not over till God says it is over.
David writes in verse 7, "My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!" How are we doing with our praises? Praising Him will show where our confidence is. Yes we may be weary but our praising Him will lift us. "My heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises."
Look at verses 1-3 (MSG). This is where his confidence comes from. David says, "Be good to me, God - and now! I've run to you for dear life. I'm hiding out under your wings until the hurricane blows over. I call out to High God, the God who holds me together. He sends orders from heaven and saves me, he humiliates those who kick me around," Falling into your own trap is kind of humiliating, isn't it? He goes on, "God delivers generous love, he makes good on his word." The NLT says verse 3b this way, "My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness."
And then verses 9 & 10 says, " I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches the clouds."
And by the way Saul was eventually killed, and David became a great king. It's not over till it is over, till God says it is over. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
