Saturday... But is that what it means?
We view so much from an I standpoint. Look at Proverbs 8:17-21 (NLT), "I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. I have riches and honor, as well as enduring wealth and justice. My gifts are better than gold, even the purest gold, my wages better than sterling silver! I walk in righteousness, in paths of justice. Those who love me inherit wealth. I will fill their treasuries." And if that was us speaking then that would be great. But that is not what it means. The I is not me. Then who or what is it?
It is so easy to live life from an I point of view, I, I, I. But when you look you see that it is not I but it is wisdom that is speaking.
Verse 12 says, "I, Wisdom, live together with good judgement and discernment." That is what we need, wisdom is what we seek. And where do we get wisdom?
Solomon the writer of a big portion of the book of Proverbs was given by God three choices and one of them was wisdom and that is what he chose and God gave him the other two. James in the New Testament of the Bible wrote in 1:5, "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking."
You ask God for it, you seek it and you choose it. Proverbs 8:10-11, says, "Choose my instruction rather than silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it." And that is so true.
That is why I read a chapter in Proverbs everyday. Read verses 17-21 again from the perspective of wisdom talking. That makes a big difference, doesn't it?
Now the key is that the Giver is the source. God is the giver of wisdom and so much more. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
