Monday... This is important to God.
Proverbs 31:8-9 (NLT) says, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice." That's found in the Old Testament of the Bible.
Then the New Testament, James 2:1 says, "My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others?' Good question.
He goes on, verses 2-4, "For example, suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in dirty clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, 'You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor' - well, doesn't this discrimination show that your judgements are guided by evil motives?"
And then verses 8 & 9, "Yes, indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' But if you favor some people over others, you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law."
Proverbs 31:8 & 9 in The MESSAGE says, "Speak up for the people who have no voice, for the rights of all the down-and-outers. Speak out for justice! Stand up for the poor." Then James 2:8 (MSG) says, "You do well when you complete the Royal Rule of the Scripture: 'Love others as you love yourself.'" and then verses 12 & 13, "Talk and act like a person expecting to be judged by the Rule that sets us free. For if you refuse to act kindly, you can hardly expect to be treated kindly. Kind mercy rules over harsh judgement every time." And there is a whole lot of harsh judgement going on in this day in which we live. even in the church. What happens in one church when a person comes in with a mask on and in another one with a mask off?
This is very important to God. This is how we show that He really does make a difference. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
