Tuesday... Let's not get mixed up, this is so important. It really is.
Paul in his letter to the Galatians gives these thoughts in chapter 6 (MSG). In verses 1-3 He says, "Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself." No, no, I've got to spread it all over the internet. That's what the internet is for, isn't it? I don't think so. But it is how we use it.
He goes on, "You might be needing forgiveness before the day's out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law. If you are too good for that, you are badly deceived."
Some when they heard that Margaret and I tested positive for Covid could have said, "They must not have taken the vaccine, or they must not wear masks or I told you doing all of that wouldn't work." Too many Christians are condemning instead of reaching out and sharing burdens. They didn't have the internet in Paul's day but they still found ways to condemn.
He then says in verse, 4 & 5, "Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life."
And this is good, Verse 8 & 9, "So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith."
We have been given a tremendous opportunity to show Christ's love to a world that is in deep need. Let's not waste it by given out critical opinions and judgement. As Paul said, "Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law. If you are too good for that, you are badly deceived." The world needs our love and our faith. This is so very important. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
