Saturday... It's the smart thing to do.
Psalm 133:1 (MSG) says, "How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along."
When we as the B. Ivan Williams family were growing up, we traveled a lot. My father was a traveling evangelist a big portion of the time that I was growing up so we spent a lot of our life in a car and we found that getting along was a necessary part of having an enjoyable trip. Getting along was an smart thing to do.
Proverbs 13:1 (MSG) says, "Intelligent children listen to their parents; foolish children do their own thing." Now doing your own thing in a car with 3 to 4 other people can be a foolish thing to do on a long trip. It does not make the trip enjoyable, does it?
Verse 2 here in Proverbs 13 says, "The good acquire a taste for helpful conversation; bullies push and shove their way through life." And then verse 3 says, "Careful words make a careful life; careless talk may ruin everything."
Verse 10, "Arrogant know-it-alls stir up discord, but wise men and women listen to each other's counsel." And that is good advice too, isn't it?
And then back to Psalm 133:1 & 3 (NIRV), "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in peace!. . . It's as if the dew of Mount Herman were falling on Mount Zion. There the Lord gives his blessing. He gives life that never ends."
Getting along is a smart thing to do. It really is. Let's do it, today. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
