Sunday... Let's think about what He has done.
David in Psalm 64:9 (NIRV) writes, "All the people respect God. They will think about what He has done." The NIV says, "they will proclaim the words of God and ponder what he has done." So let's do some pondering then do some proclaiming.
Today is Easter. Many as they think about the story leading up to this day as they ponder would be ready to head to the streets to fight for the injustice that happened on Friday. An innocent man was crucified. That fact grips their heart and they want to do something about it. And that would be a good thing. We even today want to do all we can to fight the injustices that we see happening. We will go to the streets to let people know how wrong that is but as we ponder that isn't the end of the story. Fighting for injustice is not the end of the story. There is more to it than that!
Over in Ezekiel 18:30 (AMP) he writes, "'Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each one in accordance with his conduct', says the Lord God. 'Repent (change your way of thinking) and turn from all your transgressions so that sin may not be a stumbling block to you.'" Verse 31, "'Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed [against Me] and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. So why should you die.'" And that is what Easter Sunday is all about. The last phrase in verse 32 says, "Therefore repent and live!"
Yes the injustice of Friday is something to do something about. So He died as a sacrifice so that He could rise again which if we confess and repent takes care of the cause of injustice and the sins in our life so that we can live, really live the way we were created to live.
And that is good news. The cause of our sins and of injustice comes from our heart. And He died so we can have a new heart and a new spirit if we repent and turn to Him. That is what today is all about. So let's repent and live and then proclaim it! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
