Tuesday... So how do I make a second chance work for me?
Over in Luke 13:6-8 (NLT) Jesus tells a story, "A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally, he said to his gardener, 'I've waited three years and there hasn't been a single fig! Cut it down. It's just taking up space in the garden.' The gardener answered. 'Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I'll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.'"
Where do you need a second chance? Where do you need to give special attention? Maybe this next year is the year that you get victory. Are you serious, really serious?
I know, we can really be disappointed in ourselves and other people. We want to give up on us or them.
Yes we need a second chance on different areas of our life but we also need to give special attention in using the second chance to our benefit. Doing the same thing over and over doesn't make the difference. We have to step back and give special attention and do something different in order to get a different result.
I had two areas last year where I needed to change so I gave special attention to them and I did something different and I have not been disappointed and I am different. It has been hard work but it has been so worth it. I found one answer from my son and another from YouTube. And God gave the the strength and motivation to do them.
Do some asking, do some reading, go on YouTube. And go to prayer. Ask God for wisdom. Make a concentrated effort to find some answers to use your second chance to make a difference.
I know it sounds pretty simple but it isn't easy. It will take extra work but it will be worth it.Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
