Thursday... We each one have a part to play in all of this. It is so easy for us who are strong to give glory to God for His strength and then be done but there is more to do because we are strong.
Paul writing to the Romans says in Romans 15:1-3 (MSG), "Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status."
It is so easy for us to bring glory to ourselves and how we are handling such difficult times but our strength is not for our glory, no it is for our service.
He goes on, "Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, 'How can I help?' That's exactly what Jesus did. He didn't make it easy for himself by avoiding people's troubles, but waded right in to help out, 'I took on the troubles of the troubled' is how the Scripture puts it."
And that is what Christmas is all about. God looked down upon us in our trouble and He said to His Son, I want you to go down as a baby and inter into their lives and their troubles and show them how to live, to show them how to care for each other and to show them how to really love. And that's what He did. And He also died for us!
He goes on, verses 5 - 8 (NLT) says, "May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept each other as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that God is true to the promises he made to their ancestors."
Jesus came as a baby, as a servant to show that God is true to His promises. And that is something we are called to do too! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
