Tuesday... We get things really mixed up. We have these beliefs that seem to be true but if is is not based on the Bible it may not be necessarily true. One of these is the belief that if I am a Christian, then life must fair, but is that true?
Solomon in his honesty writes in Ecclesiastes 9:1&2 (NLT), "This, too, I carefully explored: Even though the actions of godly and wise people are in God's hands, no one knows whether God will show them favor. The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremoniously clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don't."
He later says in verse 11, "I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time."
But this is what we do have. Psalm 70:4&5 says, "But may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, 'God is great!' But as for me, I am poor and needy; please hurry to my aid, O God. You are my helper and my savior; O Lord do nor delay."
We have access to God who is great and we can trust him to be with us and to bring good even out of bad and we can be filled with joy and gladness even when life isn't fair. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
