Tuesday... This morning in my reading the last three chapters of Nehemiah, I came across a parenthesis phrase that jumped out at me. It is a, by the way phrase, that we need to see today in the midst of this pandemic. Nehemiah 13:2, (NIV) says "(Our God, however, turned the curse into a blessing.)" It was shared as if we all knew that. By the way you know, don't you? that God turns curses into blessings. You see, God is in the turning around business. He really is.
Psalm 126 comes from a little different perspective but it also shows that God is in the turning around business. Verses 4-6 (NLT) says, "Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert. Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as the return from the harvest." He's in the turning around business.
And then Psalm 77:10-12 (NLT) says, "And I said, 'This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me' But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your might works."
Verses 13-15 (MSG), "O God! Your way is holy! No god is great like God! You're the God who makes things happen; you showed everyone what you can do-You pulled your people out of the worst kind of trouble, rescued the children of Jacob and Joseph."
The NLT says it this way, "Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations. By your strong arm, you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph."
And you turn curses into blessings. And God is still today in the turning around business. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
