Monday... Then they sang this song.

Exodus 15:2 (NLT), "The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him - my father's God, and I will exalt him!"

Monday... Then they sang this song.

Yes, Exodus 15:1 (NLT) says, "Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord."

Something unbelievable had just happened and they wanted to sing. Oh how we want to take credit, don't we? But in the unbelievables that God does in our lives it can be difficult.

Now the last verses of Exodus 14 tells what happened and why they wanted to sing. Verses 29-30 says, "But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, as the water stood up like a wall on both sides. That is how the Lord rescued Israel from the hands of the Egyptians that day. And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed upon the seashore." The Egyptian Army had tried to make it across but those walls of water came down upon them and they all drowned. And then verse 31, "When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses."

And then 15:1 says "Then Moses and the people of Israel sang" and it is important who they sang to. They "sang this song to the Lord."

Verse 2 says, "The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him - my father's God, and I will exalt him!"

Now there are many times that we as Christ followers need to sing a song of the Lord's strength in our lives and a song of our times of victory. And they will be there with God in our lives and right after something unbelievable has happened in our lives that is a great time to sing.

Of course, how we sing is really up to us. It is just something that comes from a deep place within us of gratitude and praise to God.

I get emotional each day after I have written this blog. I can't really express to you my gratitude to God for his channeling words from His Word through me to you. It is such an tremendous privilege and an unbelievable experience. And I sing a song of praise to God when it is done.

I sat Saturday night in church and heard my Pastor share a difficult sermon and it was unbelievable. Yes I gave him a word of thanks and praise that he did it and to God for sharing through him what our church needed to hear. It was amazing.

Yes we need to sing songs to others who may need it. God wants us to be channels of encouragement. And this for sure was a song to be sung and to be remembered. Again, we as a church needed it. God really used him.

Now verses 1a-3 in The Message says, "I'm singing my heart out to God - what victory! He pitched horse and rider into the sea. God is my strength, God is my song, and, yes, God is my salvation. This is the kind of God I have and I'm telling the world! This is the God of my father - I'm spreading the news far and wide! God is a fighter, pure God, through and through."

Then they sang this song to the Lord and we need also sing to him. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Tuesday... Each one of us see and describe what we are going through differently but... We each one have our own way of explaining what we are going through, don't we?  Some of us are maximisers, other are minimizers and neither one is better. We each one are different and we see what we are facing differently but no matter what it is and how you see it and describe it, God can handle it!  Now the writer of Psalm 46 shows the extremes. In verse 1 he states the basic reality and then he moves on into our fears and he maximizes them to make sure we really understand. Here is what Psalm 46:1-3 (NLT) says, "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!" So what do you fear? The Amplified Bible says verse 1 this way, "God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], a very presen...

Friday... Yes, we need them. We really do

Psalm 8:3-4 (NLT), "When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers - the moon and the stars you set in place - what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?" Friday... Yes, we need them. We really do. No, not the fact that I can go out my front door and look out at night at the marvels of the sky. I can do that and it is amazing and it takes my breath away each time I see it. Yes, that is a fact but the reality of who did that and the wisdom and the faith that I have to believe that and to marvel that the one who did that cares about me makes such a difference in how I live my life. Yes, God really does. That is so wonderful for us to believe. And that is why faith and wisdom are so important. Now whatever belief you have at how that marvel happened must also be believed through faith. And the sad thing to me is that more and more people have been taught that there is no God and therefore he did not have a h...

Wednesday... It didn't just happen.

Psalm 16;10 (NLT), "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." Wednesday... It didn't just happen. We are headed into a weekend of deep emotion. One that we really really love was killed and it didn't just happen. David in Psalm 16:10 (NLT) writes of this happening. He says about God, "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." We read over in the Gospels at the beginning of the New Testament in the Bible of the life of God's Son who came to earth to be our sacrifice so that our soul would not be left among the dead. Jesus came so that we wouldn't have to be buried at death and just left there. But he also shares that Jesus who was going to be killed as a sacrifice for our sins would not have to rot in a grave. David many generations before foretold this and that is what happened. Now that had to be a God thing. We can guess a lot about our future and we d...
