Psalm 41:1 (AMP), "Blessed [by God's grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him in days of trouble."
Wednesday... Yes, our actions will be rewarded!
David in Psalm 41 starting with verse 1 (AMP) says, "Blessed [by God's grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him in days of trouble." That is so true. It really is.
David goes on. In verse 2 he writes, "The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; And he will be called blessed in the land; You do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies." And King David found this true over and over.
The Message Paraphrase says verses 1-3 this way, "Dignify those who are down on their luck; you'll feel good - that's what God does. God looks after us all, makes us robust in life - Lucky to be in the land, we're free from enemy worries. Whenever we're sick and in bed, God becomes our nurse, nurses us back to health."
Yes, our actions will be rewarded but so many just want to be so selfish. It is all about them and their needs and trouble comes and they can't handle it because they are going it alone.
I like that first line in The Message, "Dignify those who are down on their luck; you'll feel good." And that is so true. So very true.
The Apostle John in 3 John wrote a letter to a church and in verse 5-6 (NIRV)) he said, "Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters. You are faithful even though they are strangers to you. They have told the church about your love. Please help them by sending them on their way in a manner that honors God."
He then wrote about a man named Diotrephes who was a problem. In verse 9b-10 it says, "He loves to be first in everything. So when I come, I will point out what he is doing. He is saying evil things that aren't true about us. Even this doesn't satisfy him. So he refuses to welcome other believers. He also keeps others from welcoming them. In fact, he throws them out of the church." And then in verse 11 John writes, "Don't be like those who do evil. Be like those who do good."
Again, "Dignify those who are down on their luck; you'll feel good - that's what God does." And that is so true. So very true! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
