Thursday... It really does get tiring. It really does.
David in Psalm 6:6 (AMP) says, "I am weary with my groaning." Don't you ever get to the place that you're tired of it.?
Now King David had some groaning in him. He was honest. In verse 4 he says, "Return, O Lord, rescue my soul; Save me because of Your [unfailing] steadfast love and mercy." Yes, he had been here before and he knew where to go. Have you experienced this unfailing, steadfast love and mercy? Do you know where to turn in your groaning? We just can't stay in that place too long. We really do need to turn to the one who doesn't put us down but who reaches out to us in our time of despair.
Verse 7 says, "My eyes grows dim with grief; It grows old because of my enemies." Verses 8-9, "Depart from me, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord has heard my supplication [my plea for grace]; The Lord receives my prayer."
Yes, there is a lot of evil out there. there really is but you can know this, "The Lord has heard my supplication [my plea for grace]; The Lord receives my prayer."
I'm also reading in the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament of Paul's journeys sharing the Good News. And he had it rough. He was in jail after jail. He could have spent a lot of time groaning.
In Acts 23:10-11 (NLT) it says, "As the conflict grew more violent, the commander was afraid they would tear Paul apart. So he ordered his soldiers to go and rescue him by force and take him back to the fortress. That night the Lord appeared to Paul and said, 'Be encouraged, Paul. Just as you have been witnessing to me here in Jerusalem, you must preach the Good News in Rome as well." God knew what was happening and he had a plan. God knows what He is doing. He can be trusted.
There may be situations in our life that deserve our groaning but God has a plan and He knows what he is doing. So be encouraged.
Verses 9-10 of Psalm 6 (NLT) says, "The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer. May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified. May they suddenly turn back in shame." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
