Tuesday... They have their rewards.
Now the key is to have an authentic relationship with God in which we are totally dependent on him which gives us a totally different perspective in so many ways of this life in which we live.
James 1:9 (AMP) says, "Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position [as a born-again believer, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God];" I know, I know that doesn't make sense in this world in which we live. But James goes on.
In verse 10 he continues, "and the rich man is to glory in being humbled [by trials revealing human frailty, knowing true riches are found in the grace of God], for like the flower of the grass he will pass away."
Verses 9-11 in the NLT says it this way, "Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them. And those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field. The hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements."
And then comes verse 12, "God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterwards they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."
The Amplified Bible says it this way, "Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor's] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him."
Back to verses 9 & 10, "Let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position [as a born-again believer, called to the true riches and to be an heir of God]; and the rich man is to glory in being humbled [by trials revealing human frailty, knowing true riches are found in the grace of God], for like the flower of the grass he will pass away."
We either glory in our humble circumstances or glory in being humbled. And they have their rewards. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
