Thursday... Moving has some good attached to it.
I was born 76 years ago today in Huntington, West Virginia but we were there only for a couple of months then we were on the move. And it seems that we haven't stopped. Well, maybe we have. We bought a house in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But moving has some good attached to it. Psalm 92:12-14 (NLT) says, "But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the Lord's own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green."
There is a point that in each of our lives we need to be transplanted to the Lord's own house. We need to move from an old way of living to a new way that will last even to old age so we can produce fruit, that will remain vital and green.
Do you need to be transplanted? I mean, are you stuck in a rut and you need to be transplanted out of it? What is it in your life that is holding you back from being vital and productive?
I'm also reading in Acts about the Apostle Paul's moving around. He had a purpose that was greater than his staying in one place. Jesus met him on a road and He totally transplanted him to a new life purpose. Now it had a lot of moving around in it until he was transplanted to God's house which just happened to be a prison where he wrote a big portion of the NT. God transplanted him from killing Christ's followers to adding followers to Christ and it still is continuing today.
Now as I look back on my life, I have no regrets at all the moving I have made. God has been in it. And even in my old age of 76, I am still producing fruit in and through my life that will remain vital and green. Yes moving has some good attached to it when and if God is in it. Yes, God wants to transplant us to His own house.
Verses 14 & 15 in the Amplified Bible says, "[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age; They will flourish and be vital and fresh [rich in trust and love and contentment]; [They are living memorials] to declare that the Lord is upright and faithful [to His promises]; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." And that is the truth. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
