Friday... It is so practical, and it is a trust thing.
God's Word can be trusted. The writer of Psalm 119:33-37 (MSG) says, "God, teach me lessons for living so I can do what you tell me - my whole life one long obedient response."
He goes on, "Guide me down the road of your commandments; I love traveling this freeway! Give me an appetite for your words of wisdom, and not piling up loot." We all need to pray that.
And then verse 37 (NLT) says, "Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word."
The writer of Proverbs 30:5 says, "Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection." He can be trusted.
And then his wisdom comes through in verses 7-9. They say, "O God, I beg two favors from you; let me have them before I die. First, help me never to tell a lie. Second, give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' And if I am poor, I may steal and thus insult God's holy name."
As I read through the Proverbs every month when I come to these verse I stop and ask God to reinforce them into my life. He knows us, he knows what we need and what we can handle. His word, his wisdom, his Spirit within us can be trusted. It is so practical, and it is a trust thing. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
