Friday... It comes around again.

With my reading Proverbs each month depending on the date I read, chapter 3 with its encouragements comes round on the third day of each month. And today is March 3 so I just read chapter 3 again. I do the same with Psalms but it take 5 months to read the 150 chapters. And I also read a chapter in the New Testament each day. I read Mark 4 today.

Look at this. Proverbs 3:25-26 (NLT) says, "You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap."

Now this is a new month of a different year and your situation is not the same. Each day is different but God and His Word is the same and you can depend on Him, that is if you have a relationship with Him.

Did you see what it said? It said, "You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked." If you don't have a relationship with God then you should be afraid. You're living each day by yourself and you don't have the added fact that God is your security and you won't be caught in a trap. But so many who have a relationship with God still are afraid even though they don't need to be because they don't realize this is the truth or they forgot and need to be reminded.

Let's say your dad is rich but you don't realize it. But you live with the fear of waking up each morning with no food or that maybe you are going to be kicked out of your home with no place to live. You are afraid but you don't need to be. Your dad has it covered.

Now God your Father is rich and He is strong and He sees what is happen all around you so you don't need to be afraid. He is out ahead of you to keep you from falling into a trap.

Now that is one of the reasons why I spend time in God's Word everyday. That's why I share with you 6 days a week what the Holy Spirit shows me to share with you. And I am no different from you if you have a relationship with God. He wants to show you what He is like and what you need to not be afraid of happening to you. But you need to spend time with Him in His Word and with His Spirit to know all about Him or to be reminded of what He is like and will do in your life.

Verses 24-26 in The Amplified Bible says, "When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden fear nor of the storm of the wicked when it comes [since you will be blameless]; for the Lord will be your confidence, firm and strong, and will keep your foot from being caught [in a trap]."

By the way this chapter also has two of my life verses. They are verses 5 & 6. Look them up. They might be what you need to know or be reminded of today. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Nehemiah 6:16b (NLT), "They realized this work had been done with the help of our God." Tuesday... I wonder what would happen if we didn't take the credit? Over in the Old Testament in the book of Nehemiah it tells of a major task that through the leadership of Nehemiah was accomplished. The walls of Jerusalem had been torn down and God had laid it on Nehemiah to build those walls back up. Now, we so many times want to take credit for doing the impossible. It would make such a difference for us. But I wonder what would happen through us if God got the credit? Tuesday... We just have trouble listening.

1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT), "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." Tuesday... We just have trouble listening. Over in Jeremiah 25:4 (NLT) it says, "Again and again the LORD has sent you his servants, the prophets, but you have not listened or even paid attention." And Jeremiah went on to tell what was going to happen. There will be consequences if we do not listen to what God says through his Word. Now the Apostle Paul over in 1 Corinthians was having a problem with some professed Christ followers who were having trouble at listening. And we too can have problems at listening. We can think that being a Christ follower means we do a lot of finger pointing and we give up on people who don't do what we say. We can even do that in our families. But Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT), "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." In verse ...

Thursday... Yet, now this is true.

Colossians 1:22a (NLT), "Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body." Thursday... Yet, now this is true. Now Paul a prisoner in Rome is writing a letter to a church in Colossae. And in Colossians 1:21 (MSG) he says, "Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds, engaging in evil deeds" The NLT says "This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated by your evil thoughts and actions." And that is where so many in this world live today. They are blowing it and they don't know what to do. Yes, they are hostile in their minds and they are engaging in evil deeds but there is Good News. Now Paul in verses 19-20 sets the stage for an answer to those who don't want to live that way.
