Wednesday... He knows me, He really does.
There are people that I talk with on a regular basis at my two coffee shops I go to but I don't know their names. I know a lot of other things about them but I don't know their names. I haven't taken the time to ask them their name or if I did at one time but didn't write it down so I don't remember it.
Now many of us spend time on a regular basis here on Today's Beginnings but we really don't know each other. But God knows all about us. And that is a relationship that can really make a difference.
David wrote Psalm 38 it says for God to remember him and he comes down to verse 9 (NLT) and says, "You know what I long for, Lord; you hear my every sigh." In other words God really knows Him. And the same can be said of us too.
God knows the inner emotional workings of you. He knows our longs and He hears my signs. The Amplified Bible says, "Lord, all my desire is before You; And my sighing is not hidden from You."
He knows, He knows. The MESSAGE says, "Lord, my longings are sitting in plain sight, my groans an old story to you." Now yes, He knows but maybe He is wanting far more from us. Maybe He wants us to turn those inner emotions that we have, that keep us awake at night, that keep us discouraged and worn out, maybe He wants us to turn them over to Him. Here are my groanings, God, here are my sighs, here are my disappointments, here is what keeps me awake at night. That is what He is wanting us to do.
You see, what He knows, He knows but He wants to do something about them but He wants us to ask Him to work them out, to take care of them, to use them to strengthen us.
David in verses 17-20 (NLT) says, "I am on the verge of collapse, facing constant pain. But I confess my sins; I am deeply sorry for what I've done. I have many aggressive enemies; they hate me without reason. They repay me evil for good and oppose me for pursuing good." David had good reasons for his groaning, for his signing and you may too. Maybe there is some confessing that you need to do to God and for sure there needs to be some honesty.
And then his desperation, verses 21 & 22 says, "Do not abandon me, O Lord. Do not stand at a distance, my God. Come quickly to help me, O Lord my savior."
He can save us from our past, from our groanings, our sins, our failures, our disappointments. And this is what we can pray. Verse 22 in the Amplified says, "Make haste to help me, O Lord, my Salvation." Again, "Make haste to help me, O Lord, my Salvation." He is our salvation and He wants to save us. So make haste and reach out to Him. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
