Wednesday... Is this you today?
David writes in Psalm 18:6 (NLT), "But in my distress I cried to the Lord;" There are so many in distress who don't know that this is an option but for those of us who have a relationship with God this "but" makes all the difference. It really does.
He goes on, "yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears." Praying need not be a last resort it can be and needs to be the first thing we do.
In verses 1-3 David writes, "I love you Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies."
The intro to this Psalm says, "A psalm of David, the servant of the Lord on the day he rescued him from all his enemies and from Saul. He sang:"
Those of us who serve God, those of us who turn to Him in our distress can also sing verse 6 (MSG), "A hostile world! I call to God to help me. From his palace he hears my call; my call brings me right into his presence - a private audience!" Again, "he hears my call; my call brings me right into his presence - a private audience."
And you can, and He wants you to also call out to him in your hostile world. And your call will bring you right into HIs presence - a private audience. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
