Tuesday... In spite of, we can!
Here is where being a follow of God makes a major difference. In all of the in spite ofs in our life we can rejoice. In spite of Covid, in spite of relational problems, in spite of health problems, in spite of all the difficulties you are going through, you can rejoice. It is not easy but you can.
David writes in Psalm 68:3-4 (NLT), "But..." That is another way of saying in spite of. "But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God's presence. Let them be filled with joy. Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord - rejoice in his presence."
Verse 6 says, "God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy." Are you a prisoner to what is happening around you? He wants to set you free from all the negatives in your life. He does. You are not alone.
Verse 19 (MSG) says, "Blessed be the Lord - day after day he carries us along. He's our Savior, our God, oh yes! He's God-for-us, he's God-who-saves-us."
And this is also important for us to see. 1 Peter 4:12-13 (NLT) says, "Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad - for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world."
And then verse 19, "So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you." The MESSAGE says, "So if you find life difficult because you're doing what God said, take it in stride. Trust him. He knows what he's doing, and he will keep on doing it." And in that we can rejoice! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
