Thursday... Is this how you are feeling today?
David writes in Psalm 69:1-3 (NLT), "Save me, O God, for the floodwaters are up to my neck. Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; I can't find a foothold. I am in deep water and the floods overwhelm me. I am exhausted from crying for help; my throat is parched. My eyes are swollen with weeping, waiting for my God to help me."
Now what if you didn't have a God to wait on? What if you were truly all alone? I can't imagine what that would be like because I am not alone. I do have God to help me. But that is not what so many people believe.. I can't imagine what that is like.
David goes on in verses 16-18, "Answer my prayers, O Lord, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful. Don't hide from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in deep trouble! Come and redeem me; free me from my enemies."
Verses 32 & 33, "The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God's help be encouraged." Let me say that again, "Let all who seek God's help be encouraged." "Be encouraged." "Be encouraged. For the Lord hears the crises of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people."
Do you feel like you are in prison? 32b-33 (NIRV), "The hearts of those who worship God will be strengthened. The Lord hears those who are in need. He doesn't forget his people in prison."
No He doesn't. So, verses 34-36, "Let heaven and earth praise him. Let the oceans and everything that moves in them, praise him. God will save Zion. He will build the cities of Judah again, The people will live in them and own the land. The children of those who serve God will receive it. Those who love him will live there." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
