Tuesday... Here is something that we can hold onto today.
The Psalmist writes in Psalm 33:4a (NLT), "The word of the Lord holds true." The NCV says, "God's word is true."
Now Matthew in chapter 5 verse 19 (NLT) says "So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God's laws and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of Heaven."
And then over in Matthew 7:24-25 (MSG) Jesus says, "These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit - but nothing moved that house. It was fixed on the rock."
Verses 26-27, "But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don't work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm [when a pandemic] rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards."
So if we are smart, really smart then we need to not just listen but obey and build our life on His Word and use it as the foundation of our life. Then when the troubles, the storms, the pandemics come, then our life will not be moved, will not collapse because it is fixed on the rock, the solid rock.
And that is something that we need to hold onto today. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
