Monday... Maybe this is a prayer for you, today?

Monday... Maybe this is a prayer for you, today? Maybe?

There is power in praying the Bible. I love the Psalms. They teach us so many ways to worship God, to reach out to Him and what and how to pray to Him.

David says in Psalm 25:1-3 (NLT), "O Lord, I give my life to you." Now that is a good start. "I trust in you, my God." That's why David prayed to God. He trusted Him. The Amplified Bible say, "O my God, in You I [have unwavering] trust [and I rely on you with steadfast confidence]" I love that, steadfast confidence.

Now he gets to specifics. This may be what you need to pray. "Do not let me be disgraced or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat." Do you need to pray that today? Do you? Are you in a situation that is greater than you and you need help in making right decisions, in making wise decisions, in handling the situation? God does that. He wants us to trust him and have steadfast confidence so He puts us in situations where we need Him? Is that where you are today?

He goes on, "but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others." The Message says, "Don't embarrass any of us who go out on a limb for you. It's the traitors who should be humiliated. And that is a big YES, isn't it.

Verses 5 (NLT), "Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me." Yes He is! "All day long I put my hope in you." All day long. Not just when you're reading you Bible or having spiritual thoughts. Even when bad things are happening to you, remember He is the one who saves you, He is your hope! Yes He is. Reach out to Him. Quietly pray to Him.

And verse 6. This is so good, "Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past." Yes you pray that but what you really are praying is that you remember His compassion and you remember His unfailing love.

But this you do ask Him, verse 7b, "Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord."

There is power is praying that prayer. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Monday... He did it by Himself

Isaiah 44:24b (AMP), "I am the Lord, Maker of all things. Who alone stretches out the heavens, Who spreads out the earth by Myself." Monday... He did it by Himself. Many have a tendency to think very highly of themselves and what they can do. Oh we do have great ability but we are not the source. Yes it is important to have self-confidence but we are limited. The prophet Isaiah in 44:9-10 (NLT) says, "How foolish are those who manufacture idols. These prized objects are really worthless. The people who worship idols don't know this, so they are all put to shame. Who but a fool would make his own god - an idol that cannot help him one bit?" Now later in verse 24 (AMP) he writes, "For the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb says, 'I am the Lord, Maker of all things, Who alone stretches out the heavens, Who spreads out the earth by Myself.'" I love that. "By Myself." Now we do need confidence but we are foolish to ma...

Friday... We have this hope of expectancy.

Psalm 5:3 (NLT), "Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Friday... We have this hope of expectancy. Now David found a great way to start his day. He says in Psalm 5:1-3 (NLT), "O LORD, hear me as I pray." And that is a great place to start. It really is. Morning sunrise He goes on, "Listen to my cry for help, my King, my God, for I pray to no one but you." And that is so important. We don't try to pump ourselves up by ourself. No, we pray to no one but you, God, my LORD, my King. Now this relationship with God is so, so very important. And then David says, "Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you" And that is so great. And then he says, "and wait expectantly." Yes, we have this hope of expectancy. We are experienced. That is what a relationship with God and a moment by moment connection does. It makes a difference in our daily wa...

Wednesday... It didn't just happen.

Psalm 16;10 (NLT), "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." Wednesday... It didn't just happen. We are headed into a weekend of deep emotion. One that we really really love was killed and it didn't just happen. David in Psalm 16:10 (NLT) writes of this happening. He says about God, "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." We read over in the Gospels at the beginning of the New Testament in the Bible of the life of God's Son who came to earth to be our sacrifice so that our soul would not be left among the dead. Jesus came so that we wouldn't have to be buried at death and just left there. But he also shares that Jesus who was going to be killed as a sacrifice for our sins would not have to rot in a grave. David many generations before foretold this and that is what happened. Now that had to be a God thing. We can guess a lot about our future and we d...
